PROMOTIONS

POINTS FOR EACH RANK

Please note:

• At least two weeks must elapse between every promotion.
• The rank of Dragon Knight requires 6 months membership
• The rank of Dragon Knight Elite requires 8 months membership.

Upon reaching the required amount of Dragon Points the member must complete a rank task, which are outlined below. All members must get their Dragon Points checked by a leader before beginning the promotion tasks.

RANK SERVICES

Page to Squire:

After 30 days membership in the clan, the page will be promoted to squire on completion of a quest.

The purpose of the quest is to encourage exploration and reliance on one's own resources. The quest must be given by a Wing Commander or Dragon Lord. The quest should be to retrieve an item that is placed on the mob by the WC/DL. It should be difficult but not impossible, a level range of +10-15 levels is a good guide, but the final decision should take in to account the amount of morts the Page has and the difficulty of the area. The decision as to what information to give out about the quest should also take in to account these factors. The quest giver does not have to give out information such as the exact name of the area, mob or room name, but sufficient clues should be given. Quest givers are encouraged to put their clues in a creative form.

The Page should not ask for any help during the quest, though the quest giver may give out extra clues if s/he considers it appropriate.

Note - the Page does not need a DP requirement to be promoted to Squire. The starting whois will be recorded at the time of the Page being promoted. This means that most DPs gained in the trial period do not count towards later DP counts, donated gold and quest points are the only exception to this. They will always be counted as though they started at 0.

Squire to Knight:

The Squire must learn to help others. The Squire is required to fill 5 backpacks with special items to be handed out to newbies. The following items should be included in the backpack:

The Perfect White Rose should contain a message on the card. You will have to send it to another Dragon member first, and then take it back from them to put in the bag. The message should say that the gifts are a present from the clan and any other welcoming things you would like After giving the bag to the newbie, the Squire should spend some time explaining what the gifts are (ie, this is a bag of some very nice eq that you can purchase in open clan shops around Midgaard, etc). The Squire should also offer to help with any other questions the newbie has about the gifts or the game in general. Squires are welcome to fill the bag with extra newbie goodies as well.

Wing Promotions

Intelligence Wing Knight - DK
Requirements:
- Been a member of Dragon for at least 6 months
- Have at least 70% of the MUD explored
- Have completed at least 1 quest per level at one cp per 20 levels. Task:
Research the eq available in an area so it can be added to the eq database. The stats and the mob it is from should be recorded. An area will be assigned for you, please post a note to Norton and the DLs to get one.
DK - DKE Requirements:
- Have at least 85% of the MUD explored
- Have completed at least 2 quests per level and 1 cp per 10 levels. Task:
Research and write up a guide for the web page. For example a levelling guide, best eq guide, best spell up potions guide. The guide should cover as much as possible between level 1 - 201. It should not be a guide we already have, the Knight should post a note to Norton and the DLs, explaining his/her ideas before starting this task.

Relations Wing Knight - DK
Requirements:
- Been in Dragon for at least 6 months
- Have voted on at least 2 out of the last 3 applicants during the applicant's first interview process.
- Have done at least one background check an applicant or a person looking for a sponsor, if the applicant has been in another clan before applying to Dragon.
*The background check should involve speaking to at least 5 members of the applicant's previous clan including at least 2 leaders. Questions about the applicant's behaviour in the clan should be asked and the information should then be passed on to Dragon in a note on personal board.
- If there are no opportunities for background checks the Knight may take on an additional task (See below)
Task:
Come up with 3 new questions to post to an applicant. These questions are for the second stage of the application, after the applicant has been in the clan for one month. They should relate to the applicant's experiences and thoughts about the clan and they must be different to questions we have already (talk to Trippi about getting a list of current questions). Additional Task (for members who cannot do background checks):
Add some information to the New Dragon Guide. The information should relate to life in Dragon that will help new members to adjust to the clan. Speak to Trippi or Growltiger to get a copy of this if you don't have one, and always speak to a DL before beginning the task, to make sure that your ideas for what to write up are appropriate.
DK - DKE Requirements:
- Sponsored 1 applicant who made it in to Dragon.
- Voted on 5 out of the last 6 applicants during the applicant's first interview process.
Task:
Organise and hold a fun competition and/or social event for the clan (for example a trivia game or item hunt, but the DK is welcome to be more creative with the event s/he chooses). The DK must invite the entire clan to participate with a note explaining all the rules. The DK must also provide the prizes and at least 10 people must participate.
